The season has been a really interesting learning curve for ourselves and everybody involved with getting the car to where it is now. As you may or may not know last December this car was a road-going 2005 GTI.  The process from converting the car to the championship winning racecar has been a tough one to say the least and with everybody’s help we have done it! Thanks to everyone for the part they have played in the season, from the initial strip-down and preparation of the car, all the suppliers that have helped us with parts, software, information and help in fine-tuning the car, assistance at the track and those who have supported the car through the season. All of this has been greatly appreciated.

The Regal Car was the only one to score points in all of the 12 races in the championship, every single finish being in the top 7 positions including 2 wins, 3 seconds, 1 third, a pole position and 2 fastest laps. This combination of Tony’s pace, consistency and ability to (mostly) keep out of harm’s way is what has ultimately allowed us to take the title.

Reassuringly, the only parts on the car to fail all year were original equipment parts, the aftermarket performance parts were, without exception, perfect for the duration of the season and this is a credit to the companies products which on the whole were parts designed for and ordinarily fitted to road-going cars! The racecar has allowed us to test each of these products to the absolute limit and the fact that they have undergone a whole season of racing has given us the confidence and facts to sell them to our road car customers.
