EVOMS Connecting Rods
Fatigue is the major cause of connecting OEM rod failure. We have seen the 996TT connecting rods bend at about 750 HP. Our rods are machined from a proprietary steel, manufactured and forged to custom specifications. This custom material is a chromium / nickel / vanadium / molybdenum FORGED alloy which was formulated for unmatched strength, weight and durability.
The 996TT connecting rods are fully machined to guarantee the removal of all surface imperfections in the forging. After heat treatment, each connecting rod is 100% magnaflux inspected and hardness checked, then machined to final size. Each set of rods is balanced and then shot peened to achieve the ultimate in strength and fatigue properties.
One of the most susceptible points of failure in conventionally designed connecting rods is the fastener system. We have exerted a great deal of effort utilizing rod bolts for this specific applications. This effort has led to the utilization of an aircraft standard fastener AISI H11 tool steel material.
Our connecting rods are a direct replacement for the OEM connecting rod which have a power limit of about 750 HP. Our designed rods will withstand power levels beyond 1000 HP, we know because we have tested them at these levels!
